Tribal members are encourage to attend and learn about the value and tradition of managing and harvesting rivercane for artisans to use in basket weaving. The development of this site will spark the long term growth of rivercane in an accessible and desirable location for long-term sustainable harvest! The planting site will be located near Camp Coushatta, signs will be displayed to direct you once you arrive! Please reach out if you have any questions and we hope to see you there!

Clothing Drive Drop Off!
As spring time rolls around, it may be the best time to do some closet cleaning. Utilize our clothing drive drop off bins for this week long event to donate gently loved clothing that you’ve moved on from! These clothes will be donated to local nonprofit organizations that use funds from their clothing resale stores to provide opportunities to young adults fighting addiction and looking to reform their lives. Donating clothing instead of throwing them away to landfills, also gives your clothes a new purpose and potentially a new home! Bins will be available for drop off every day of the week from 9AM to 3:30PM, but if you’re unable to drop off during those times, reach out to us and we can arrange something for you!

Christmas Tree Recycling
Christmas Tree Recycling Opportunity to repurpose your live trees this year.

Residential Recycling Trailer
We are excited to announce that we will be unveiling a residential recycling drop-off location for Tribal members to utilize on the reservation! Previously, our program was limited to collecting exclusively from Tribal offices. Due to our small number of staff, collecting residential recycling ourselves would be near impossible, especially with our lack of resources. This drop-off location will expand our services to Tribal members by allowing us to haul collected materials directly to our partnered recycling facility in Eunice. We anticipate arrival of the trailer for late December, and once installed with signage, will become available for public use in early January. Keep an eye out for our mail outs with additional details!

Repurposing with Rudolph
Repurposing with Rudolph is an event that encourages families to donate unwanted, gently used toys, decor, and clothing instead of discarding into landfills.

Costume Swap Shop!
Donate your new or gently used costumes and swap it out for another one! Many sizes are available, infant to adult. Stop by the Environmental Program building, located near the tribal greenhouses to view our selection. Costumes are available during normal offices hours, but we can make accommodations if needed - just give us a call! Visit our FB page to see pictures of the costumes we have available now! https://www.facebook.com/CoushattaEnvironmentalDivision
